Verona Festival of the Future returns: four days to tell young people and entrepreneurs about Society 5.0

The Festival del Futuro returns to its roots. The event will be held from 27 to 30 November at Veronafiere and for the first time will be promoted in synergy with JOB&Orienta. A new collaboration that is also enriched by the scientific partnership with MIT Sloan Management Review Italia. The appointment, now in its sixth edition, is anticipated by the three events Aspettando il Festival in Brescia, Vicenza and Mantua, and is organised by Eccellenze d'Impresa, MIT Sloan Management Review Italia and Gruppo editorial Athesis.

THE ROLE OF MAN IN TOMORROW'S SOCIETY AND THE VIRTUOUS RELATIONSHIP WITH NEW TECHNOLOGIES. PREVIEW EVENTS DEDICATED TO THE MANAGEMENT OF A SMART CITY, THE EVOLUTION OF FAMILY BUSINESSES AND THE CREATION OF AN IDEAL LABORATORY FOR AGRIFOOD COMPETITIVENESS

Among the focuses of the sixth edition: the relationship with new technologies to create a more human-centered society, how to combine food and sustainability and the challenges of Europe in the new political and economic situation.

Verona, 12 September 2024 - From 27 to 30 November, the Festival del Futuro returns to Verona and decides to do so by starting from the beginning, to look even further ahead. This year's edition, the sixth, will in fact be hosted at Veronafiere, within and in synergy with JOB&Orienta, the Exhibition dedicated to Orientation, School, Training and Work, now at its 33rd edition. A new collaboration between two important events to give young people an even clearer and more comprehensive picture of their professional and human future.

And it is man himself who is the undisputed protagonist of the Festival 2024.

Society 5.0: how to build a human-centered world is an ambitious title that will be developed over four days of meetings aimed at young people, companies, investors and citizens. A particularly important edition, therefore, that benefits from a new and significant scientific partnership, the one with MIT Sloan Management Review Italia, the leadership and management magazine whose content is attentive in addressing and explaining the challenges that arise and how technological, social and environmental forces reshape the way organizations operate, compete and create value.

Over the four days, the Festival will explore the relationship between man and machine, focusing on the importance of a balance where advanced technologies empower humans without replacing them. A programme that accepts the challenges of modernity and is designed to further involve the new generations, who in JOB&Orienta and the Festival del Futuro are looking for keys to shaping their own tomorrow. It will be emphasized that technology is a man-made medium, and that individuals must remain at the center of the decision-making process, driving innovation towards collective well-being. How to create harmonious collaborations between humans and machines to ensure that technological progress strengthens humanity will be discussed. New technologies such as AI, augmented reality, blockchain and IoT are transforming the world, offering opportunities but also ethical, security and privacy challenges. Experts will discuss how to make the most of these technologies, minimizing risks and maximising benefits. A particular focus will be on the future of work. The areas where the demand for experts in digital and emerging sectors is growing, and the importance of continuing education will be investigated. Finally, there will be a reflection on the role of Europe in a particularly delicate international situation.

This year's edition will see the participation of important Italian and international experts, as well as top-level institutional figures, from Professor Stefano Zamagni to the Journalist-Editorial Director for RAI.tv Monica Maggioni, from Sammi Basso to Alberto Pellai, from Mauro Magatti to Matteo Ward and Matteo Marzotto. Personalities of great depth, both human and professional, sure to inspire the audience.

As per tradition, the Festival will be preceded by three preview events hosted respectively in the cities of Brescia, Vicenza and Mantua. Opening will be the appointment with Aspettando il Festival Brescia scheduled for Monday 7 October at 6 pm at the Museo Mita entitled ‘Brescia. The metropolis in your pocket'. This will be followed on 14 October by Aspettando il Festival Vicenza dedicated to ‘Impresa familiare. From son to fund. Ristrutturare per una nuova governance’ and on 21 October Aspettando il Festival Mantova, a new stage in the Festival programme, with a focus on “The Mantova area as a laboratory for integrated supply chain competitiveness in the agri-food sector”.
